Subsidy on Structural
works in Government Owned dwellings occupied by tenants
Overview
For the Housing
Authority to carry out necessary works related to the structure of the premises
rented to recognized tenants to be rendered habitable to an acceptable standard
Who Can Apply
- He/she is
the recognised tenant of the Government or Joint Office units in respect of
which he/she is applying for assistance available under this Scheme.

The applicant or in case of a
married couple one of the applicants is a Maltese citizen or an EU Citizen.

The applicant and his/her spouse
are residents of Malta and have been so resident continuously for not less
than twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the date of application;
- Rent is
being paid punctually by the tenant.
Documents required
-
Photocopy of Identity Card of
each applicant and of each child under 18 years of age living with
applicant.

Last Rent receipt paid on the
address requesting assistance.
Benefits Granted
-
The Financial Assistance is
stipulated by the Housing Authority Architect according to the works to be
carried out.

The commercial rent paid by
tenants shall be increased by six per cent (6%) of the cost of works

If works are carried out by the
Housing Authority
-
If works are paid by the
Housing Authority if the applicant decides to carry the works through a
private contractor.

If the applicant decides to carry
the works himself/herself, the rent shall not be increased however the
structural works shall be still carried out.
An administrative fee of € 20 is to be paid upon submission
of application form..
