Aim:
To provide subsidy on structural works in government owned or Joint Office property occupied by tenants.
Criteria:
1. Applicants are the recognised tenants of the property and are punctual in payment of rent.
2. Assistance is provided for dangerous structure and other works related to the structure in the property.
3. The assistance is based on the estimate of works prepared by the Housing Authority architect.
4. Tenants have the option to choose if:
- The Housing Authority carries out the repairs and rent is increased by 6% of the estimate of works;
- Tenants carry out the works themselves through a private contractor and are refunded by the Housing Authority upon presentation of fiscal receipts, in which case the rent is increased by 6% of the estimate of works;
- Tenants carry out the works at their own expense through a private contractor without claiming refund from the Housing Authority. In which case the increase in rent by 6% is not applied however tenants are obliged to remove any dangerous structure.
