Subsidy on Adaptation Works in Owner occupied Private Dwellings or in Private Dwellings rented to Tenants - Scheme A

Aim:

To provide subsidy for adaptation works in owner occupied private dwellings or in private dwellings rented to tenants. This aid helps to render residence in a habitable and acceptable standard.

Criteria:

1. The maximum amount of assistance under this scheme is €7,000.

2. Owner occupiers can benefit from assistance for repairs related to structure and adaptations in the residence. Owners renting the property to tenants can benefit for assistance on only one property and for repairs related to structure only.

3. The value of the property should not exceed €80,000 before the works are carried out, and it has to be at least 14 years old.

4. Assets of applicants in the three years preceding the date of application should not exceed €30,000 and income for 2010 should be below €28,362.97.

5. The grant is based on applicant’s income and family members according to the table below.

6. The Housing Authority issues payments upon presentation of fiscal receipts by applicants of the works carried out, and after the Authority ascertains that works have been carried out in full and as approved and all conditions have been observed.

7. The grant has to be refunded by paying 6% per annum until the whole grant is paid back.

8. Beneficiaries under this scheme may benefit for additional improvements after five years, provided that the total sum does not exceed €7,000.
